The Winds of Change

2 more days and the citizens of msia will decide on who to send to represent their voices in the Parliament as well as the state assembly. Have you ever wondered how the statistics was like for the 2004 Parliamentary and state assembly seats?? Do take a look now!!



Before the dissolution of the parliament, out of 219 seats, only 20 seats belong to the opposition (12 DAP, 6 PAS, 1 keadilan, 1 independent). A huge chunk of 199 seats belong to the Dacing!!!


Now the scenario in the Parliament can be depicted as 1 single person from the opposition being the attacker, midfielder, defender as well as the goalkeeper. He has to face 10 players from the other team, with the referee and linesmen on the other team's side. WHAT IS THE ODD THAT THE OPPOSITION TEAM CAN WIN THE MATCH???


As the Dacing has MORE THAN 2/3 majority, a motion proposed by them to make amendments in the Constitution is as good as a VETO. This is because it requires 2/3 majority from the parliament to make any amendments to the Constitution. Any motion put forth by the opposition will probably not even see the light of debate, let alone pass as law.


Thus, it is fervently hoped that all eligible voters out there will deny the Dacing the 2/3 majority! Some of you may have concerns with the 'Moon party', but think about it, what is the odd that they get to form the ruling government?? A vote against Dacing is a vote for the raykat, for it is with more opposition voices in the Parliament that the Dacing will not do things according to their whims and fancies.

The scenario in the state assembly is also pathetic. Out of the 505 seats, only 52 seats were won by the opposition. This is as good as 1 person from the opposition playing against 8 players from the other team, with the linesmen & referee at the other team's side. Also, the other team will SHIFT THE GOAL POST any time!! The cancellation of the use of indelible ink is one example. Such is the scenario of our election and our so-called democracy!!!


ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!! Do play your part and cast your vote wisely for a more transparent government with integrity!! Come 8th March, the rakyat will decide.
