My Fuhrerschein

Gone was the 'P'!! I got my valid Fuhrerschein (in german, it means license) yesteday-and it is gonna lasst me for 5 years!hooray!No more going to JPJ-u know how much we ALL dread goign to government department in this country, right?
I actually went there with a fren, thx to him. If not, i wouldnt know where this well-hidden JPJ is for goodness sake. And i never like those driver instructor who do it for u-and charge u a larger-than-usual sum!hello? we all can do it ourselves, thank you very much. We were there, took numbers(had to wait fro 60 more numbers) and then i went to washroom. When I returned, guess what? my fren was calling me and it was our turn alr! It didn't hit me at that time. Later when we left, he smiled at the guard. Hmm. Then he asked me if I know why it was our turn so soon.
My thought was that, u know how those passport department have this 1251, then 2251 kinda numbers?As in you have 2 lines moving simultaneously. But nope, he told me he was there fixing the umbrella, then this guard smiled at him and asked (in our dearest bahasa kebangsaan) 'u got wat number? then he told him the number, and added,' so u can help me to do it faster?' wow u know the guard is so cocky, he replied 'u want fast oso can, u want slow oso can, i know ppl in side.' oh plz!! he juz have to press the numbers himself when he reaches there for work in the morning, there is no NEED to KNOW any1 in the JPJ.haha.
So yeah, in the end, my fren paid rm2 to him and got the fast pass. i would say quite worth la, one number 2 ppl use. BUt imagine this, 1 person he charges rm2 then 10 ppl is rm20 (he can get like dunno how many lunches) then 100 ppl means rm200!! oh well, there are just thses kidna ppl lurking around, waiting to suck your money, coz they see all our weakenss-impatience!haha, be it at the passport place, the place to register car number plate or anywhere else that u can think of.
On an irony note, my fren P license only expired the next day, so he wasn't allowed to renew 5 years!Luckily he could still renew for one year(compare to mine-5 yeares), if not, 1 trip wasted for him. haha, like I told him, 'u tell the makcik who is the more competent driver here.'
Anyway, coincidentally, today i read about getting a driver's license in the land of Volkswagen-Germany in the papers. So I would like to share some of the stuff written by the author. According to her, getting the license in Germany is definitely not a bed of roses. It is not about getting a handbook of FAQ questions and then learn it by hard. And it is not about showing up at 'seminars' for attendance. Nor is it about paying RM200 for the guaranteed pass.
It is far from that.
To egin with, you have to pass through a stringent theory test. You are taught about 1st aid, where u learn and practise all the basic skills necessary to give 1st aid to accident victims. The theory also covers a gamut of issues, from reading the msg of the roadsigns, knowing the fact that pedestrians are always right (as in when he wants to cross the road, u had better slam your brake-or else!) to being civic-minded(as in not to tailgate or honk unnecessarily).
And the BEST thing, once u 'graduate', u get this Fuhrerschein for LIFE! As in no more queing at JPJ, no more tipping those guys! Hooray!
