Lang Tengah Trip

I have decided to post the emails which I sent to the 13 people below for the benefit of those who are not going to lang tengah but would like to know about our progress.

Dearest All:

Girls: ME, pui li, anna, mun ling, sarah , mary
(dear mary, u MUST get permission from your parents, how evil of u not to tell me that u haven’t asked them. But we counted u IN already.haha)
Total: 13 guys +6 gals
Ratio of guys to girls: 1:2
Quoting Brandon yet again ‘Siapa cepat, dia dapat.’ Haha.

After much phone calls, MSN and sms sessions btw Brandon and I, phone calls, MSN and sms sessions btw Brandon and his friend, phone calls btw his friends and several agencies, phone calls btw me and some transport contacts, we have, FINALLY, settled the once-it-a-life-time MC trip for you all, and we are all now on our way to make, for ONCE, MC trip a reality.

Date: Depart on 22/6 night by BUS, leave LT on 25/6
(Coincidentally, my Redang trip with HELPians was on 22/6-25/6/2004 as well. We all had a great time despite staying in a budget resort. Since this time round we are staying at the CHUNNEST resort out of the 4 available, you bet it is gonna be great!)

MONEY MATTERS:
RM400 for accommodation+ 3 meals per day at the resort+ boat transfer
RM 60 for Transnational bus to and fro, KL-KT and KT-KL
RM XX for taxi transfer from KT bus station to Merang jetty and vice-versa
(The freaking agency wants to charge us extra RM40 PER PERSON for this transfer. So being smart consumers like Brandon and I, we have made a few calls to confirm that there are normal taxi there; and I am trying to get hold of some taxi drivers’ numbers for double protection, from my ex-piano teacher who is an avid diver.)
RM YY for the rental of snorkeling equipment and Marine Park fee, which is really minimal. (It is RM5 for the marine park if not mistaken)

You all may be interested to know that to secure the place, we have to pay around RM3800 as deposit. Mcians have only paid RM1200 (me, minghong, wen hoi) to Brandon and he trusts US not to ffk him, so he is forking out the REST himself. Talk about being a gentleman and having faith in Mcians. Thanks a lot, Brandon!
As for the bus fare, RM60 X 10 Rm 1140
And Brandon’s friend is ok with paying it with HIS money FIRST.

Now, it is my sincere hope that NOBODY will PULL OUT. If not, I really don’t know how to face Brandon and his friends. I really hope that whoever who HAS TO pull out, is willing to pay the money to Brandon and his friend, though you are NOT going. I hope you all understand how hard it is to organize a trip for such a big group, with a lot of $$ involved and us being merely student who have NO income at all.

Just a recap on the activities that we are going to do:
-Snorkelling
-Swimming
-Volleyball
-Mahjonggggggggggggggggggg!!! (can someone please tell me if you can get hold of some mahjong sets?? Thanks a lot! am not sure if the resort has ENOUGH, after all it is peak season)
-PS2 is ONLY allowed if u are bringing dancing mats.
(Notice I said MATS, which means at least 2. Dancing duet is really fun!)
-Poker cards
-Magic cards (girls like US being understanding, u guys can indulge in your hobbies)
-Watch sunset and sunrise
-Eating
(Note: You all may want to bring some tit bits for us to eat in the bus. The journey is about 8 hours. Remember, sharing is caring and there are 19 of us. * grins* Patrick, remember your yummy muffins? Ahem…)
-Taking photos!! (plz remember to bring charger ok!!)
-Spending quality time with each other (this is CRUCIAL)

House Rules:
-DOTA is FORBIDDEN (Patrick, minghong…ahem, please try to resist the temptation of bringing a laptop ok? U will risk dropping it, or soaking it with water, or misplacing it.)
-BE PART OF OUR MEMORIES =)

You all may wanna get in touch with us upon coming back here. Please remind each other what to bring when THE DAY draws near. Do tell me what you can/ cannot bring, especially the mahjong sets!! =)
